Prolonged infection with the Human Papilloma Virus has been clearly linked to the development of cervical cancer. TMB is now able to provide the Cervarix vaccine which helps protect against this disease. The vaccine is mainly indicated for girls from 10 years of age upwards and it is given on three occasions over a six month period. There are two different HPV vaccines fully licensed for use in Ireland and both are available through participating TMB clinics. A brief leaflet comparing the two vaccines is available for down load at the link below. Both vaccines provide cover against Cervical Cancer linked to HPV 16 and HPV 18. The cost for the entire course of Cervarix through a participating TMB clinic is €390 which includes a consultation with one of our doctors on the first visit and the administration of the vaccine on three occasions. On the first visit you will be seen by one of our doctors initially and then the nurse will look after your vaccination. The cost for this visit is €150 (consultation €30 and vaccination €120). A month later you will need a second vaccination with the nurse (cost €120) and at 6 months there is the final visit (cost €120). GARDASIL
The cost for the entire course of Gardasil through a participating TMB clinic is €480 which includes a consultation with one of our doctors on the first visit and the administration of the vaccine on three occasions. On the first visit you will be seen by one of our doctors initially and then the nurse will look after your vaccination. The cost for this first visit is €180 (consultation €30 and vaccination €150). Two months later you will need a second vaccination with the nurse (cost €150) and at 6 months there is the final visit (cost €150).
