Quantiferon Screening 

TB screening can be completed through TMB using a Quantiferon test. QuantiFERON-TB Gold (QFT) is a simple blood test that aids in the detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the bacteria which causes tuberculosis.  

This is a type of IGRA test often used as part of a health screening for educational and employment purposes. QFT cannot distinguish between active tuberculosis disease and latent tuberculosis infection, and is intended for use with risk assessment, radiography, and other medical and diagnostic evaluations. Like any diagnostic aid, QFT cannot replace clinical judgment. 

This test must be completed in the morning as the sample has to be received by the laboratory staff very rapidly to ensure that the test can be undertaken correctly.
