Pre-Departure Medical Screening

Frequent travellers to ‘at risk’ destinations are advised to avail of our pre departure screening service. This service combines aspects of the standard travel vaccine service with a personal medical assessment prior to travel. Unlike normal medical examinations, at each travel clinic we incorporate an assessment on how the country may impact a person’s health and their ability to fulfil their working role. It also provides a benchmark to monitor changes in the patient’s future health. 

Some organisations use this service to provide a regular assessment on the health of their staff whereas others use the service only when the individual is about to return or embark on a new assignment. 

Post-Exposure Medical Screening

This service can be utilised in a variety of ways. It can detect if a healthy individual has been exposed to a tropical disease through an assessment of their symptoms, physical examination and if necessary, a variety of lab based testing. 

The service can also be used to diagnose and treat patients who have returned home unwell. A fully equipped laboratory is available to our network of travel clinics for the diagnosis of parasitic and tropical diseases. This facility allows the TMB to quickly analyse samples and enable a speedy diagnosis and treatment.
